In simple terms, hierarchy is patter in which everyone has their own position, who has a higher position that is on top who have a lower position that is in the bottom. For example — how many CEO and COO are there in the company? Might be 1 or 2, and if it comes to a worker who works in the organization then the number is definitely huge. That’s the reason, why business voluntarily takes a form of hierarchy.

In spite of these disadvantages we come to know that hierarchy is not handpicked, it is inevitable, voluntarily, and important for any organization. The organization is not the work of an individual, but it is organized and composed of various other individuals too. List of advantages of the hierarchy is much longer than disadvantages as you can see that list below:

· Prevents duplication of efforts.
· Better communication.
· Standard maintenance in business.
· Better reporting relations to top.
· Helps to put people to their right position.
· Proper division work between departments.
These are just a few points that show us, why hierarchy is important and inevitable. This is also the reason that disadvantages like delays and rigidity or employee dissatisfaction are of temporary nature. An organization can remove these disadvantages by implementing various techniques. But opposed to it, if we violate the hierarchical pattern then it leads to worst functionality and stunning growth of a business.
